Altitude   •   2100 - 2300 m

Don’t let looks deceive you. This coffee doubles up on natural processing through a 120 hour anaerobic dry fermentation process before finishing on the drying beds in Ethiopia.

The 350 members of the Farmer's Co-op in the high elevations of the Oromia region cultivate this coffee from trees with lower yields but exceptional quality. The coffee might be different sizes and colors, but the beautifully bright floral and fruit notes consistently fill the cup.

We’ve collaborated with our long-time Alabama friends Side Track Coffee from Opelika to source and develop this coffee. Plus, we’ve been able to bring it in from our friend Samuel Demisse from Keffa. Sam gave a lot of advice and support in Prevail’s early years, and Prevail helped Side Track get started 10 years ago in the heart of downtown Opelika across the tracks from Prevail's original roastery. They've grown into a destination for premium specialty coffee and beautiful hospitality in the Auburn/Opelika area.

This coffee collaboration represents friends helping friends get started and the continued long relationships that the coffee world brings together.

About the Farmers

Samuel Demisse was born and raised in Ethiopia. His father was a coffee professional and taught him about the industry at a young age. After immigrating to the United States, Samuel founded Keffa Coffee, an importer focused on supporting and sustaining coffee growers by working with origin partners who pay higher than average wages and treat workers fairly. Prevail has worked with Keffa for over 10 years and continue to source his exceptional Ethiopian offerings.
